1. Former NPR congressional reporter Andrea Seabrook has quit her gig at NPR and started a very cool new project called DecodeDC. She was frustrated with the political news cycle and the near-total lack of insight it provided, and is currently Kickstarting a new blog and podcast that tries to look deeper into our government.

Seabrook’s really talented, and if you ask me this is exactly the tone that should be pursued in political coverage. If you don’t believe me, listen to the episode above, about the House of Representatives, and why it’s so hard to represent as huge a number of people as they do. Or this one about the neuroscience behind party politics. Seabrook’s raised more than $30,000 to make this a reality, but she could use your help getting over the hump.
