1. Adobe Books in San Francisco has always been one of my favorite shops in the world. It’s on 16th Street in the Mission, around the corner from where I grew up. When I was little, the owner, Andrew, would save baseball books for me, and let me read them for free as long as I brought them back. It’s a true neighborhood business with an amazing selection of books of all kinds. Sadly, though, it’s shutting down. If you live in San Francisco, stop by Adobe and patronize Andrew’s shop before he closes the doors. You can even buy a GroupOn to get half-price on books. I bet Andrew’d give you a break if you didn’t want to give GroupOn a cut, too. Help out a really special place.
